Stress Causes Many And Varied Effects

There are many consequences of stress, and its good to be aware of them. But what exactly are these effects, and how serious can they be? The fact is, stress affects everyone a little differently, but it’s always something you should take seriously. To help clarify these matters, in this article we’ll be focusing on some of the typical effects of stress.

Everyone instinctively tries to reduce stress, but our first reaction isn’t always the best one. Stress is often behind smoking, drinking alcohol, unhealthy eating or taking drugs. None of these, of course, are actually effective ways to manage stress. If you have the tendency to respond to stress in such ways, you should look for help, as this kind of response only increases long term stress. Such stress reduction activities are usually unhealthy, expensive and detrimental to your career and relationships, thus bringing about added stress. If you find yourself responding to stress in such dysfunctional ways, you may need help in this area.

There are many problems that come up with relationships, family or others, and one of the big ones is stress. One of the leading causes of stress would be having financial difficulties, and that leads to relationship problems between couples. It doesn’t matter if the stress was originally experienced by one party or both. One big problem with relationships, is when one party will lash out at the other party, simply because of the stress they are going through. A family has enough stress all on its own, and the last thing needed is for stress from an outside source, like a place of employment, to be brought home. Life is about dealing with situations, especially those caused by stress, so learn how to deal with stress directly rather than putting it on others, such as your family.

A stressed out person and a moving vehicle can be a deadly combination. What is road rage but an extreme form of stress? Many events that occur on the road have the potential to cause stress if you let them -people driving too fast (or too slow), missing lights, traffic jams, construction delays, etc. Drivers who can’t control their stress levels are risking their health as well as their safety, so you should work on this issue if necessary. While the above aspects of stress are important, they aren’t the only causes and consequences of stress, as these vary from one individual to the next. The best thing we can do is identify which situations tend to trigger stress in ourselves, so we can look for ways to alter our reactions. It doesn’t really matter what causes stress, as long as you recognize it; the important thing is learning how to manage it so it doesn’t take control of you.
